Najib's invisible hands are making deals and Azmin's "Now or never" attitude is dishing out cash through his cartels

Malaysian Mirror       Thursday, June 25, 2020
Media has commemorated Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s 100th-days performance in praises and compliments. Even many Malaysians have praised him for his care and nurture toward the people during this tough time due to Covid-19 pandemic, particularly for the additional RM35 billion under Penjana and more leeway in the MCO ruling. Proud they are of him and Perikatan Nasional (PN), which has been seen to be their ‘saviour’ in their time of need. Muhyiddin Yassin’s promises of the monetary incentives could somehow become the light at the end of the tunnel for the needful people and businesses, yet they could be just a diversion to the people from noticing the return of the “Cash is King” ideology into the country.

Among the content of Muhyiddin Yassin’s report card should include the discharge of Dato’ Seri Najib Razak’s step son, Riza Aziz, from his five counts of money laundering involving RM465.3 million. Also not forgetting the recent acquittal of former Sabah chief minister Tan Sri Musa Aman from 46 charges of corruption and money laundering linked to timber concessions in the state. This is appalling! With such release, many would anticipate further ‘clearance’ of court cases of similar nature involving few more renowned names in the Malaysian politics particularly UMNO warlords like Dato’ Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Mansor, Datuk Seri Bung Mokhtar Radin, Tan Sri Isa Samad and Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim. Malaysians should not also forget the names linked to the financial case of 1MDB such as Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, Arul Kandasamy, Datuk Rizal Mansor, and the abominable Low Taek Jho or Jho Low that would possibly face the same verdict. Do remember that these names have been charged with various counts of bribe, money laundering involving millions of ringgits and are still undergoing court hearings. Will their dream to swindle public funds come true the same as that of Musa Aman?

The ideology of “Cash is King” is said to have returned after media reports claiming Muhyiddin Yassin and PN are getting closer to UMNO and PAS (Muafakat Nasional), as well as Najib Razak’s invisible hands are making deals while more MP supports are gained through Dato’ Seri Azmin Ali’s ‘buy-off’ activities using the cartel's hoard. Thus, will it be possible that more kleptocrats be freed from their charges? Ultimately, will 28 July 2020 witness another major ‘surprise’ to Malaysia and the world? Though Malaysians are relieved from their burden with the continuous shower of monetary incentives from the PN government, will they also feel a huge relief when kleptocrats are back in power?
